May Day is International Workers Day. Across the state—from the fruit fields in Goldsboro to classrooms in Durham, from cafeterias at Duke University to childcare centers in Raleigh— working people are organizing. Cuts to Medicaid, inadequate wages, attacks on our basic democratic rights, lack of public funding, ICE terror in our communities, endless wars abroad and a growing divide between the billionaires and the workers, means that this May Day we have to take a stand.
Because when the billionaires break every rule, it’s going to take more than a rally to stop them.
Join a coalition of workers, unions and grassroots organizations across NC, the country, and the globe to shut down business as usual to fight back against the billionaire takeover.
We will continue to add more info and opportunities below to join in MayDay activities!
March 21-28 - ALL donations to Wake County Indivisible will go to our Pack the Bus Snack Drive
Last summer, WCPSS announced some schools would no longer receive funding for the Universal Free Breakfast Program due to federal cuts to SNAP benefits and increased eligibility requirements for students. Bottom line… students are going hungry at school.
WCI people..you have all continued to SHOW UP! and make massive, much-appreciated donations to our Pack the Bus Snack Drive to benefit Wake County Public School students! You helped students who have lost universal free breakfast because the NC GOP can come back in session to further gerrymander voting maps but not to pass a state budget!
