Internships

Wake County Indivisible is looking for a part-time intern to join our team this Fall semester (September-November 2026). Spend 15 hours per week making an impact on Wake County and North Carolina civics and politics.

What You’ll Do 

Community Engagement and Event Execution 

Plan and support execution of community engagement and civic participation events including on-site support, event materials preparation. Coordinate with community partners and peer organizations.

Data and Record Management

Assist with data entry and tracking participation metrics on facebook and Brevo. Maintain membership database and newsletter. Organize Resource database. Ensures all files in Google Drive are maintained in an organized and efficient manner.

Resource and Content Creation

Utilize a variety of research tools, databases, and public sources to gather information.  Develop and prepare a variety of clear, well-organized written materials such as research briefs, reports, policy updates, toolkits, press releases, etc. Create and maintain virtual resources such as Registration Repair toolkit, Whistle toolkit, and Pack the Bus toolkit. Assist with member communications such as weekly newsletters, social media posts, website. 

Social Media

Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of the digital strategy. Assists in the creation of all content and digital assets for website and social media pages, including written content for the website, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Identifies new strategies to increase digital audience engagement while engaging with current online audiences. Actively engages with journalists, policy makers, social media influencers, and organizational peers to build brand recognition on digital platforms. 

Fundraising and Capital Development

Grant writing, fundraising campaigns such as Pack the Bus, sustainers campaign.

Who Are You:

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. 

• Must reside in or be able to regularly travel around Wake County.

• Interest in community engagement, civic participation, local political organizing, nonprofit leadership, and public policy. 

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Comfortable working evenings and occasional weekends during events.

Hours and Compensation Details:

• Temporary Part time, Contract Position, September - December 2026

• Unpaid, happy to work with you to meet qualification for class credit

• Up to 15 hours per week but flexible
